Study Abroad in Cyprus
 
Visa Requirements for EU and Non-EU Students
 
Residence Card for EU students:
 
a) Passport or ID. Please note that EU citizens may travel freely to Cyprus but are required to submit an Application for Issue of Residence Permit to the Migration Department within four (4) months of their date of entry into the Republic of Cyprus. The Office of Admissions will assist with this procedure.
 
b) EU students are obliged by the Migration Department regulations to have health insurance coverage or alternatively the EU Hospitalisation Card.
 
Entry Permit for Non-EU Students:  
 
All international students who apply to study in Cyprus require a visa to enter the country. Students wishing to apply in Cyprus should send the following documents to the International Students’ Office by post, fax or email, in order to be submitted to the Migration Authorities for evaluation (originals are not required but attested copies): 
 
Documents needed for applying to obtain a visa:
 
1.     Attested copy of Passport (minimum validity for two years). Pakistani and Egyptian applicants’ passports do not need attestation.
2.     Attested copies of Secondary and Senior Secondary High-School Certificates and Official Transcripts for Diploma and Bachelor Programs. Students who are applying for a Master degree must also submit an attested copy of their Bachelors Degree and Transcripts.
3.     Students are required to have the aforementioned documents attested by the appropriate/relevant authorities in their home country. The attestation process differs between countries who have signed the Hague Convention of 1961 (Apostille) and those who have not. Please contact an Admissions Counsellor for instructions on how to attest documents in your country.
4.     Attested documents must be in English. In cases where a translation is necessary, this must be done by an approved translator and attested by the relevant authorities in the applicant’s country.
5.     A recent Non-Criminal Record Certificate (in English) issued by the local police or Ministry of Home Affairs (for Indian nationals this must be issued by the Passport Office), stating that the applicant has no criminal record. The Certificate must not be issued more than four (4) months before the application deadline. In case there is validity or expiry date written on it, then the Certificate should be valid until the date the classes commence.
6.     Attested Bank Letter (in English) clearly certifying that the student’s sponsor has sufficient funds to cover the student’s expenses and studies in Cyprus (amount of minimum 7000€). The Bank Letter should be issued on the student’s or father’s / mother’s name, no more than a month before application deadline. The sponsor can only be the father or mother of the applicant. If neither the Passport nor the Police Character Letter state the relationship between the student and the sponsor, then a Certificate of Relationship issued by the Police or other official authorities stating the relationship between the student and sponsor must accompany the bank letter.
7.     Attested Bank Statement showing that the student’s sponsor maintains a balance of at least 7000€. This statement must be issued no earlier than one month prior to the application deadline.
8.     All non-EU students are obliged by Migration Department regulations to have health insurance coverage. This medical insurance must be renewed with each annual registration.
9.     Health Certificate (in English): Medical Examination report issued no more than 4 months before the application deadline which proves that the student is free from HIV, Hepatitis B & C, Syphilis and Tuberculosis:
 
·     a. Blood analysis test for HIV, Syphilis, Hepatitis B and C
 
·     b. Chest X-Ray for tuberculosis
 
·     NOTES:
 
1.     Application fee differs from each academic institute, and  application forms will not be processed without this non-refundable fee.
2.     Tuition fees differ from each college/ University. Contact us for more information.
3.     Transfer of 3000 euros to the college bank account with the application submission. A copy of the transfer statement and a receipt from the college will be submitted to the migration along with the application. No visas will be issued without transfer statement and receipt.
 
Tuition fees are payable in advance PRIOR to your arrival in Cyprus to enable us file an application for a VISA. Fees cannot be refunded after the issue of the VISA or your arrival in Cyprus. Upon arrival in Cyprus you should have with you a minimum of Euro 3,500.
